Descent for La Guardia airport was started at6:00 P.M. Finally, landed at 6:40P.M. we were dropped off at Gate 35 Eastern airways and had to run, run, run to Gate 3 American airways, catch the helicopter. It was a thrill to see New York City for the first time by helicopter. Landed at J.F. K airport and American airways. This was a real mess as after many inquiries were told to take an airline connecting bus to Twa. Finally, on the bus and past many airlines including Alitalia. 8:45 P.M. and Harold has Just completed our flight seats. There are many blue express bags in the lobby. Have met one couple from Chicago that is in our Tour. There has been no time for postcards. The plane is a 707 Boeing Star Stream Jet. We taxi for 15 minutes and airborne at 9:30 PM. Whee of a take-off. Dinner menus presented at 10:30 P.M. Offered head phones for the movie-but will only watch and try to doze.
